Recovering Download Content

If you are not able to find your download content (fonts, patterns, designs) which was, at one point, purchased from the Silhouette Design Store, the steps below will allow you to recover this content into your library.

Some tips to finding your designs:

  • Please ensure all library folders are expanded. If a folder has a + sign inside it, you can click on the folder symbol to expand it
  • Any purchased Fonts will be automatically downloaded to your Fonts folder. Digital patterns will be in your patterns folder. All others should download to your Recent Downloads folder
  • SVG content will not download automatically to your Silhouette Studio library, however, a .studio format copy will be in your library. For help retrieving SVG content purchased from the Silhouette Design Store, please visit here.

Later versions of Silhouette Studio (version 3.7 and higher) introduced the cloud library structure. In order to properly retrieve your purchased content, you will need to follow the steps below for either CLOUD or NON-CLOUD libraries. This will depend on the software version you are running. Please check your software version with the following steps:

  1. Open the Silhouette Studio software program
  2. For PC/Windows, click Help on the top menu bar. For MAC users, click Silhouette Studio on the top menu bar.
  3. Click About Silhouette Studio

A pop-up will appear and the software release number you are using will be listed on it.

Release 3.7 or above is a CLOUD library structure (This is automatic and there is no sign up needed)

Release 3.6 or below is a NON-CLOUD library structure

Please perform the steps listed below to ensure a proper sync of your Silhouette Studio Cloud User library:

  1. Open the Silhouette Studio® software
  2. Go to Library in the Silhouette Studio® software
    • File > Library > Library
  3. Locate your email address
    • If account email is not there, Right-click ([Ctrl]+click) and select Add User
      • Proceed to enter account email and password
  4. Right-click ([Ctrl]+click) on email and select Sync
    • If you see an option to Sign In, please select that option to start the sync

If your cloud icon displays a green check mark but you are still missing your downloads, please proceed with the following:

  1. Open the Silhouette Studio® software
  2. Click on the Silhouette Design Store button
    • Or go to File > Silhouette Design Store…
  3. Log in to your user account
  4. Select [Your Name] in the upper-right corner
  5. Select the My Account option
  6. Select Recover All Downloaded Designs
  7. Select Find and Sync Missing Items

This process will initiate a Cloud Library Sync. Any images that have not been downloaded will shortly appear in the Cloud User section of your library.

Please perform the steps listed below to download all purchased content to your Silhouette Studio Non-Cloud library:

  1. Open the Silhouette Studio® software
  2. Click on the Silhouette Design Store button
    • Or go to File > Silhouette Design Store…
  3. Log in to your user account
  4. Select [Your Name] in the upper-right corner
  5. Select the My Account option
  6. Select Recover All Downloaded Designs
  7. Enter your Password

Once the password has been submitted, the selected content will be downloaded to the library. If you encounter any issues during this process, please contact support, or feel free to update your software to the latest version here.
