How to connect Bluetooth for Cameo 3
If you would like to use a credit card and are experiencing problems or you simply wish to adjust your credit card on account, you may do the following:
- Log into your Silhouette account by visiting the Silhouette Design Store section in the Silhouette Studio® software program (or you may simply visit our website home page through a regular web browser)
- Once logged in, click on the my account link
- Select the Manage My Credit Cards link
- Once viewing the cards on your account, delete and/or add your new card as may be desired.
A few points to check that can cause concerns with credit cards being properly saved or charged are as follows:
- You will want to make sure that all fields are completely filled out
- Ensure that the expiration date is correct when editing an existing card
- Ensure that the security code field for your card is entered
- Ensure you have both a first name and last name present. If you only have a first initial on your card, please ensure there is a space between the first initial and the last name so the system can differentiate between both names.
- Use only English characters when recording your name and address information. Non-English characters (those with accent marks of any kind) will cause problems with processing your card information in our system.
Once all credit card information is entered and saved, you may opt to have the card as your default card. If there are any missed payments from previous subscription payments, they will be automatically charged as the card is successfully saved.
Performing these steps should update your default card and allow you to check-out correctly, as desired.
In order to set up Bluetooth® connectivity with the Cameo 3, please first ensure that your Cameo 3 notes “Bluetooth® Included” on the front of the Cameo box (rather than just “Bluetooth® Compatible”). The “Included” notation indicates that a Bluetooth® adapter is included and installed in your Cameo whereas “Compatible” indicates there is a port for a Bluetooth® adapter, but one is not included.
You will also need to ensure your computer or device has Bluetooth 4.0 support. Computers or devices not equipped with Bluetooth 4.0 support cannot properly use the Bluetooth® communication option. You can click here to check your computer. Please note that an LMP of 6.0 or above indicates the presence of the Bluetooth 4.0 protocol.
Once you have confirmed your Cameo 3 machine has a Bluetooth® adapter and that your computer or device is equipped with Bluetooth 4.0 capability, you may do the following to ensure the Bluetooth® feature is enabled.
On the Cameo 3 machine:
- Power on the Cameo 3
- Select the gear icon in the Upper Right of the touch-screen
- Scroll down using the down arrow
- Select the “Bluetooth®” option
- Select the “On” option
- Select the back arrow several times to return to the main loading screen
Connect via the Silhouette Studio® software in Version 3:
PC:
- Select Silhouette
- Select Add Bluetooth® Cutter
- Select Cameo3
- Select Ok
MAC:

- Select Add Bluetooth® Cutter
- Go to “Send to Silhouette”
- Select Cameo3 under “Bluetooth Connection”
- Select Connect
Version 4 (same for both PC and Mac)
- Select Send in the upper right
- Bluetooth should automatically scan and connect to your machine
Connection should establish and you will see that your machine is “Ready” in the software.
The Silhouette Cameo® Bluetooth® Edition model comes with a Bluetooth® adapter installed. While other Silhouette Cameo 3 models offered in various markets and parts of the world do not include a pre-installed Bluetooth® adapter, they are still Bluetooth® compatible and can have a 3rd party adapter installed.
If you wish to communicate wirelessly via Bluetooth® using a Bluetooth compatible Cameo 3 model (adapter not included), you can obtain a third-party Bluetooth® adapter which meets the requirements below:
- Size: The measurements of the recommended adapter cannot exceed the above dimensions. However, either measurement can be smaller.
- Type: The chip type for the Bluetooth® adapter must be the following CSR chip.CSR8510 A10Other Bluetooth adapters with alternate chipsets will not work with the Cameo 3.
At this time, we do not have any specific recommendations for Bluetooth adapters that may be compatible with our machines.
