Blank page being printed when trying to print a STUDIO file

When printing a document from the Silhouette Studio® software, the resulting page is blank (or only has registration marks printed if such are enabled).

While there appears to be an object on screen to print, there is actually no print information present in the file. Cut lines and print information are handled differently. The Silhouette Studio® software program does not print outlines or cut images unless the lines are specifically enabled to print.

The Silhouette Studio® software program will only print the following:

  • Imported raster images that are intended for printing
  • Cut line images that are filled with a color fill or pattern fill
  • Cut lines that have had the line style enabled to print the actual line

If the image in question is desired to be printed, this can be done in one of the following ways:

Fill the image with print information

  1. Select the image
  2. Go to the Fill Color or Fill Pattern options
  3. Select the desired color or pattern fill

Enable the cut lines to be printed

  1. Select the image
  2. Go to the Line Style option (the icon that looks like a serial of varying dashed and solid line styles)
  3. Check the box labeled “Print Lines of Selected Images
  4. Raise the Line Thickness​ to the desired amount
